Longbottom Coffee & Tea is a specialty coffee roaster in Hillsboro, Oregon with a retail coffeehouse on-site at their roasting facilities. My work with Longbottom spanned over 10 years starting with the redesign of their logo to better reflect their commitment to quality, community, and the environment.
The Longbottom name comes from the name of the fastest Clipper ships that delivered coffee, tea, and spices around the new world. The idea of the ship in the previous logo was kept as a central element in the new logo, but a scratchboard illustration was commissioned to add richer detail in deference to the high quality of the product. The wordmark was also updated to allude to the nautical and supported by a new signature blue field.
The rebranding effort not only included a new identity system but also exteriors, vehicles, signage, and products used in the Longbottom Coffeehouse - hot & cold cups, aprons & hats, menu boards, pump pot labels, sales collateral, and more.

As the product line grew to include K-cups, the distinction between sales channels also needed to be refined for the grocery line and signature brand line. Above includes proposed evolution of current bag and label system.
